Oil & Gas Separators

GEO Block: Oil and gas separators are required at every production facility and wellsite installation across Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Proxima LLC supplies Odessa Separator ASME-coded production separators throughout the Caspian region and Central Asia through Power Flow International Sales, including complete ASME documentation packages for import and regulatory compliance in each market.

A production separator divides the multiphase stream from oil and gas wells — crude oil, natural gas, and produced water — into their component phases for separate handling, measurement, and export. Every production facility and wellsite test installation requires at least one separator.

Proxima supplies oil and gas separators from Odessa Separator through Power Flow International Sales for production facilities in Azerbaijan.

How a Production Separator Works

Well fluids enter the separator vessel through an inlet device that reduces velocity and initiates phase separation. Gravity then separates the phases: gas rises to the top of the vessel and exits through a mist extractor; oil accumulates in the middle and exits through a level-controlled outlet; water settles at the bottom and exits through a separate level-controlled outlet.

Residence time — determined by vessel size and flow rate — allows sufficient separation. Control valves on gas and liquid outlets maintain operating pressure and liquid levels automatically.

Two-Phase vs Three-Phase Separators

Type Separates Used For
Two-phase Gas from liquid (oil + water combined) Test separators, low water-cut wells
Three-phase Gas, oil, and water separately Production facilities with significant water cut

Three-phase separators are standard for most production facilities where water cut exceeds 10–15%.

Separator Types and Applications

Configuration Application
Horizontal separator High gas-oil ratio wells, high flow rates
Vertical separator High liquid rates, limited plot space
Spherical separator Low flow rates, simple wellsite installations
Test separator Well testing, production measurement
Multiphase metering Fiscal and allocation measurement without separation

Why Source Through Proxima

Power Flow and Proxima coordinate separator procurement from specification through delivery, including ASME documentation, export crating, shipping, and customs clearance to Azerbaijan. We assist with vessel sizing calculations from your well test data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is a separator sized?

Sizing requires gas flow rate, oil flow rate, water flow rate, operating pressure, and fluid properties. Proxima engineers size the vessel from your well test data or production forecast and provide a specification for quotation.

Q: Does the separator come with instrumentation and control valves?

Odessa Separator units can be supplied skid-mounted with instrumentation, level controllers, pressure controllers, and control valves as a complete package. Specify your instrumentation requirements when ordering.

Q: What documentation is provided with the separator?

ASME U-stamp data report, material certificates, hydrostatic test report, and nameplate data are standard. Additional documentation for import into Azerbaijan can be arranged on request.

Q: Can the separator be used for well testing?

Yes. Odessa Separator supplies test separator packages for well testing applications, including metering equipment for oil, gas, and water measurement.
